Monet’s self made Garden Of Eden
During these tough times of the pandemic I often dream about Monet’s beautiful home in Giverny
which I visited with a few of my friends and our college teacher, Priti Ma’am. We were able to
break the student teacher barrier here by sharing our love for Impressionist art with each other.
Monet’s house is more like an experiential visit to his private collection which he built during the
later period of his life. It has been maintained and presented so beautifully that it is easily one of
my favourite places in Paris. The most memorable part was when we walked through the garden
full of water lilies. I could truly feel Monet’s paintings come to life then. We dipped our feet in the
ice cold pond and sat there for a while to take in the beauty of the place. Monet’s flower gardens
is how I imagine the Garden Of Eden to look like. It truly was a dream come true!
