It was the beginning of February of 2021 when I visited the National Gallery of Modern Art in Delhi. We reached at four in the evening and struggled with parking for a while before we could enter the gallery. The flora around the central building was mesmerizing in the upcoming spring weather. Parrots were flocking in the trees. There was a miniature orange tree which caught our fancy as well. The intended way for the audience led us through the popular art periods in India, over to the more experimental art periods. The sculptures in the museum were a sight to behold. The Bengal art movement section was one of my favourites displaying the paintings of Abanindranath Tagore. Works of Tyeb Mehta and Nandalal Bose significantly captured my attention. The display section Amrita Shergill and her self portraits were an inspiring sight.
