The visit was on 12th February 2022, I went there with my family and one friend. The moment we reached there, the whole atmosphere of the museum instantly felt very calming and we were instantly very excited to explore more. the museum had a very spread out layout as compared to a single building with different sections, this change felt very refreshing and made exploring the museum very engaging. The museum had crafts from all parts of the country and they came in all sizes from huge wooden chariots to intricate ornaments. the one thing that was my favorite part of the exhibition was the fact that they included everyday utility craft products along with elaborate craft pieces. There were open spaces holding large exhibits to break the monotony. One key part was where they rebuilt a haveli exactly the way it was, bringing in the original wooden parts. My favourite part of the museum has to be the Textile section which opened my eyes to the intrinsic beauty of the craft that I didn't appreciate before. The muslin embroidery was the stunning and i still can't wrap my head around as to how they do it on such a small and intricate scale. Outside, they have made a whole village style exhibit featuring huts and their ways of decoration from parts of the country. The entire museum is very green and even the outside walls are adorned by traditional paintings done by artists. no corner felt boring and there interesting elements as far the eyes could go. We ended our trip with some shopping, there are stalls with various craft products by which we can directly support the crafts people of our country and it just fills you with immense appreciation for the artists of our country that truly deserve their fair share praise.
