I remember the day when I visited the Ajanta caves, in August. The place was peaceful, calming and situated in the jungle, with greenery all around. Sadly that day, the caves were closed, but entry from Ajanta village through the viewpoint till the river down the mountain was allowed. The first view of the horseshoe shaped caves I saw was mesmerising. From a certain distance the details of the caves, pillars from outside were visible. There were limited people around that day and silence was spread all around, with the noise of trees blown by the wind and monkeys jumping here and there. I was surprised by the beauty of it and the relief work. I was wondering how this heritage site was built years ago when there were no machines. I wonder why we are not able to create such places again even when we have access to technologies. Nevertheless I spent a good time refreshing my mind with a small trek on mountains surrounding the caves and the experience I had, I am surely going to visit this heritage site again....
