Visiting the Craft Museum located in New Delhi was an ethereal experience for me. The visuals of various crafts, conversations and beautiful weather made it an unforgettable memory. The walls were covered with paintings from madhubani to warli art. The architecture and planning of the museum with sunlight filtering through the verandah with a tulsi in the middle are part of a serene memory. The museum exhibits crafts from so many places I didn't know about, how the exhibits were testimonies of community, people, stories and nature. Toward the end the artisans were sitting with their crafts, we spoke with artisans practicing ajrakh prints, and Bastar Iron craft and Leather Craftsmen. To end our visit we went to the famous Cafe Lota with Intricate Lippin Craft on the panels and amazing food.
